The primary medium for the course is acrylic paint, although oils can also be used. After registering, you will receive an extensive "Introduction" package to guide you on what to bring. The class will be held "In-Studio," focusing on completing a painting based on your chosen reference material. This material can be anything you envision, be it narrative or abstract, as long as it reflects your own ideas.
The course will help you understand the foundational principles of making art, such as value, composition, and color, as they apply to your painting in class. A key topic will be learning how to identify color bias and effectively mix colors to achieve the desired hues and values. Using computers and software as artistic tools will be consistently demonstrated throughout the course.
